There are two types o hard way bets in a crap game. The single roll bets and the multi-roll bets can be made when the player has a hunch or as part of a crap playing strategy. Deuce and twelve are always single roll bets. Some casinos will accept single roll bets on four, six, eight and ten. The hardway bet on the table layout is a multi-roll bet which stays up and live until a seven is thrown or the number is rolled the easy way. They can be taken down at any time or just taken off on come out rolls. If you want them working at all times, make sure the stick man knows they are always live. Then, unless you tell them to take the hardway bets down or take them off they are always a live bet.

The odds pay off is as follows; any single roll hardway will pay 30 to one. The multi-roll hardways pay different odds. The four and the ten hardways pay 8 to one. The six or eight hardways pay 10 to one. All hardways are two dice of the same number like six and six make a hardway twelve. Deuce and deuce make a hardway four.

There are three criteria a player can use to determine if a table is warming up or remaining cold. The absences of a seven being rolled except on come out rolls and numbers being rolled. A third measure is a high number of hardway numbers being rolled during a shooters hand at the dice table. These are the first signs of a table becoming a crap player's delight.

A hardway strategy can be played as follows. Play the deuce eleven and twelve on the come out roll. If any hit press that number and replace the lost bets. If a number is rolled, place a unit of bet on all four of the multi-roll hardways. If one of them is rolled the hardway, press that bet. If one of the hardways is rolled easy do not replace that bet. The idea is that on a hot table numbers seem to repeat and if the hardways are showing up and repeating, you can make a terrific score. 

My friend who plays this strategy all of the time, tells me he has seen the eleven twelve roll four times in a row. That is a significant win if the better started with a $25 dollar chip and pressed the bet each time. He also told of a hot table where the hard four repeated so many times that the pressing of the bet ran into the table limit for any one bet.

Hardway bets and a hot table is the crapshooter's friend. They go together signaling the table is ready to give up some money.

Being a fairly regular gambler, I have noticed a few interesting differences between men and women over the many years I've spent on the casino floor. Although these observations are by no means scientific, the general results have more or less been consistent. The results of these observations are as follows:

Men

- More likely to gamble than women.

- Begin gambling in their late teens.

- Gamble more frequently than women.

- Place larger bets.

- More competitive and play to win.

- Enjoy games such as Blackjack and Poker.

Women

- Less likely to gamble than men.

- Begin gambling in their mid 20s and up.

- Gamble less frequently than men.

- Place smaller bets than men.

- Less competitive and play to have fun.

- Enjoy games such as Bingo and Slots.

While there are exceptions to every rule, the above mentioned set of observations seem to hold true for the most part. A simple and very plausible explanation may be found by taking into account the "risk taking" behavioural aspect of a typical male. Since a typical male is more likely to possess and display risk taking behavior than a typical female, so it stands to reason that a typical male is more likely to gamble competitively and for much higher stakes than a typical female.

If you are used to writing articles for print publications, be sure to read these rules. The online consumer is different than the print consumer.

7 Article Writing Tips to Ensure Your Targeted Audience Reads What You
Write & Buys What You Are Selling:

1. Use conversational copy. Talk to your readers. Use words that people know. Absolutely, do not use jargon. It is boring. You will lose your audience's attention immediately. So, use words that people are familiar with and can connect to. Write like you talk and let your personality and experience shine through. You will make a better connection with your readers.

2.Go active. Words have power. Find specific active verbs to paint your copy. This will make your article exciting and lively. Action verbs are more engaging and will move the reader along. And, by using action verbs, you will automatically reduce the number of words it will take to get your message across. For example, "John loves Mary" is stronger than "Mary is loved by John."

3. Make your copy benefit oriented. Honestly, your readers don't care how many awards you have won. They don't care how many degrees you have or how many books you have written. All they care about is how you can help them solve their problems. So include a strong benefit in your article title. Include benefits in your article. And add benefits to your "About the Author" section.

4. Connect with your readers' emotions. We all want to feel smarter, richer, happier and thinner. Use these emotions to connect with your reader. For example, "Do you feel paralyzed every time you have to go shopping? Do you hate trying on clothes? Does stepping in front of that three way mirror strike fear inside you? Here are my 7 top tips to help you lose weight now..."

5. Keep sentences and paragraphs short. When your readers see articles with long sentences, long paragraphs and no bullet points or sub-headings, they will automatically skip that article. Here's why? - Large chunks of information scare them. - It overwhelms them. - It takes too much time and effort to read that article. And that's the psychology of most readers online. So make your sentences and paragraphs short. If your sentences are longer than 20 words, cut them up into two sentences. You can also add lists and bullet points. And, use subheadings that will attract readers when they scan articles, just like I have done with this article.

6. Front-load your point. When you make readers wade through paragraph after paragraph of unrelated anecdotes before you get to your point, you've lost your audience's attention. Yes, Mark Twain pulled that stunt all the time. But, your name is not Mark Twain. You want to tease your readers with bits of information they need to know. This way they'll stick around to the end. They'll then want to click on the link in your "About the Author" section and buy your products or services.

7. Simplify. Worried you're not using the right words? Use simpler words. Worried that your sentences are not clear? Make simpler sentences. Worried that people won't see your point? Make your point simpler. Make things simpler and your writing problems will vanish. That's why every newspaper in the world is written so a sixth grader can understand. I'm not telling you to boil everything down to "see spot run" simplicity. But, if you can't make people understand what you write, it's not because the world is filled with morons. It's because your messages are not clear.

The best way to achieve search engine dominance is by focusing on keyword research. As a search engine optimization consultant, I’ve worked with hundreds of companies that miss this very important step. Achieving top search engine rankings is largely based on the competitiveness of the keyword phrase you are trying to optimize for. If your competitor is in the top spot with a well entrenched web site, then your chances of out ranking him may be limited.

In addition to focusing on a keyword phrase that doesn’t have strong competition, you need to find terms that are frequently searched on. I recently finished a consulting assignment for a foundation trying to optimize their website. They had top rankings for a keyword term that seemed to be somewhat desirable. However, keyword research proved that the term received less than 100 searches per month. As a result, top rankings for this keyword phrase were nearly meaningless.

Once you have found a keyword phrase that isn’t too competitive and receives an adequate number of monthly searches, the next step is to thoroughly check out your competition. Google the keyword phrases you want to optimize for a run a back link check on the top three ranked web sites. This indicates the strength of those web sites relative to their search engine ranking. The more links, the more difficult it will be to rank higher than they do without some type of sustained link building campaign.

After doing your keyword research and confirming your choice of keywords and keyword phrases, it’s time to focus on improving your web pages around the keywords you’ve selected. Enhance your meta tags, titles, and web copy to include your keyword phrases. This helps to tell the search engines what your web site is about so it can rank your site appropriately. In addition to the on page factors, Google weighs off page factors to determine web site ranking.

Off page optimization requires a sustained effort that uses new content and additional links from third party websites. The most effective strategies are the most basic. Begin with a link building plan. Focus on article directories, web site directories, blogs, social bookmarking sites, and other resources where you can establish in bound links.

Your plan should include daily, weekly and monthly tasks that can attract links from authority websites consistently over time. Your goal should not be to generate thousands of inbound links quickly because Google will penalize your website. Rather, focus on steady link building.

If you want to improve your organic search engine ranking, begin with keyword research. By selecting the right keywords, you’ll be able to optimize your website more quickly than your competitors. After choosing the right keywords, focus on integrating your chosen keywords into your web site. Then you’re ready for link building and other off page optimization tactics that significantly improve rankings.

With more than a trillion dollars changing hands around the world on online casinos alone, sooner rather than later legislation will step in to exercise some form of control in the casino industry. Those measures to control casinos and gambling during the early years worked as the casino had a physical location. Today however casinos have moved online with no real physical location. The question arises how legal are these online casinos?

Gambling legislation has not changed much since Congress passed the Wire Act in 1961. This however only covered sports betting and not casinos. There was also no Internet or Internet casinos during that time. During 1998 both MasterCard and Visa sued Cynthia Haines for money she lost while gambling on an online casino. She had lost more than US$70,000 to an online casino and could not settle her account with the plaintiffs. 

She filed a counterclaim well within the state laws of California which prohibited credit card loans for gambling be it online casinos or bricks and mortar casinos. That case was settled out of court. Many states have now enacted their own legislation however casinos have moved their gambling operations off shore to casino friendly countries.

Gambling has increased drastically with the advent of the Internet and online casinos. With huge profits and vested interest in casinos there are also very strong lobbyists in government to keep gambling unimpeded. The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act which was defeated in 2000 shows how much vested interest there is in the casino and gaming industry. 

Cyberspace is the last frontier when it comes to laws governing casinos. Only time will tell how legislation will catch-up with online casinos and gambling websites.

One of the first famous gamblers in the world was John Montagu, the Earl of Sandwich. He led a scandalous private life and was addicted to gambling. In 1762, he sat for over 24 hours at a gaming table in his home, refusing to attend meals. In desperation, a servant offered the Earl a piece of salted beef as food; the Earl suggested that the beef be encased between two slices of bread so that he could eat it in his hand at the table. This is where the sandwich got its name.

One of the West's most famous gamblers was "Doc" Holliday, who maintained a fierce reputation as a hard drinker, tough fighter and ruthless killer. He is chiefly remembered for fighting alongside Wyatt Earp at the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

"Wild Bill" Hickok was another American legend, renowned throughout the world for the tall tales surrounding his violent life. He's chiefly remembered for taming two of the most lawless towns in Kansas. Unfortunately, Hickok made many enemies and his day of judgment came at a poker table. He was shot in the back of the head by an assassin and died clutching a pair of aces and a pair of eights; ever since, this particular hand has been known as the 'Dead Man's' hand for obvious reasons!

Benny Binion was born in 1904 and lived his life as a bootlegger and conman. At the age of 43, he gave up his life of crime and moved to Las Vegas, where he later opened his own casino. Binion was the gambler's gambler, and in the 1970s he bought and marketed the World Series of Poker tournament, which has grown over time to be the biggest in the world.

Magazine owner Kerry Packer made his name through his family's media empire, which owns 60% of all magazines in Australia. Packer became known as a high-stakes gambler when he won $26 million playing blackjack at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. However, Packer has not always been successful; he lost $16.5 million at the Crockfords casino in London, although this barely dented his $8 billion fortune.

The World Series of Poker tournament has created many famous gamblers of today. One such example is Johnny Chan, nicknamed "The Great Wall of China" after his amazing success winning the World Championships in 1987 and 1988 consecutively. He's played in all the major games of the last two decades and is also known as a genuinely nice guy.
