Facebook Raises $500 Million in Funding
Facebook () has received a massive new round of funding: $450 million from Goldman Sachs and $50 million from Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies, sources have told The New York Times, raising its valuation to $50 billion.
10 Million Galaxy S Smartphones Sold in 7 Months
Samsung has announced that it has sold more than 10 million of its flagship Android () smartphone, the Galaxy S, in just less than seven months.
Toshiba & Vizio to Launch Android Tablets
Toshiba and Vizio will both unveil Android-based tablets this week at CES, according to sources. Toshiba plans to announce a 10.1-inch Android tablet with a dual-core Tegra 2 chip, a capacitive 1280×800 resolution display, a 5-megapixel back camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Vizio will reveal an 8-inch tablet with three speakers, as well as an Android-based smartphone.
