Why You Fail at Managing Your Time?

Why You Fail at Managing Your Time?

Life sucks. At least that's how the saying goes. Really, why are we so dissatisfied with our lives? Most people blame stress and all the responsibilities they have to take care of on a daily basis. Yes, life grows cluttered and hectic. Just because you make money doesn't mean you have reached the point of absolute freedom and you have to mindful how to approach your day and work, so that in the end you don't believe your life sucks.

Life is what you make of it and all you've is time to change it, so time management becomes the single most important skill you can possess in order to change your life for the better. What do I talk about? About taking charge of your life and making sure perform at your best no matter the circumstances. You can win in this battle, but you have to understand what has been your downfall for this time.

Do you pay attention to your deadlines? Everything in this life matters, but it matters in a very short window of time. Once that window closes, even if you do what you were meant to, it amounts to little. Do you tend to leave things for the last possible moment even though you know you should start doing things earlier than you have? Or do you pay no attention to the dates? It's obvious you disregard deadlines, which have always been the fundamental of time management as the base for everything else. Remember, you don't want to leave hunting for move-out cleaners in London for the last moment, because finding the right company will take time and if you are pressed on time, it can result in stress.

Do you easily agree to doing things? I have seen this type of person and I have often been this person. I will say "yes" to everything, because I either wanted to help out or thought the project interesting or felt guilty, if I refused, so I signed on everything. Turns out I'm not a character out of a Japanese manga and no matter how hard I worked, I couldn't complete everything on time and with the skill needed, so I turned out to be a failure. You can't manage time, when you've clogged yours so badly, you need to create time and forget sleep. You are human. Learn your limits, learn when to say no.

Are you on time? I know at least three people who can't be bothered to arrive on time, ever. I used to joke that I had to announce an appointment with at least an hour earlier to make sure they arrived on time. Are you that person? If so, you should try this method yourself. Have a coffee at 10 in the morning? Instead of 10, remember 9:30 and go on with your day. You will have hacked your way into being on time.

Do you have another problem with time? Share it with me.
